Power PR has spent more than three decades helping industrial companies explain complex products, earn credible third-party coverage and build a stronger presence in the markets they want to reach. The tools and media landscape have changed dramatically over that time, but the focus on substantive stories, accountable execution and published results has remained consistent.
From the beginning, the company concentrated on manufacturers and industrial businesses whose products often require more explanation than a conventional sales message can provide. That specialization shaped the way Power PR writes, interviews customers, works with trade editors and measures the volume of published coverage.
Over time, the company developed a more accountable operating model around strategic positioning, substantive feature articles, direct media relations and measurable published output. Founder John W. Elliott helped establish that early performance-based philosophy, which later generations continued to refine and expand.
Power PR builds its early approach around market research, competitive positioning, technical storytelling and accountable published output rather than relying on publicity activity that is difficult to measure.
Jeff Elliott joins the company and develops deep experience in writing and media relations. Heather Metcalfe, who had already worked after school and during summers, becomes a partner in 1995 and takes on increasingly broad responsibilities as the company grows.
Jeff develops a one-on-one approach to editor communication rather than relying on a broad shotgun method. The goal is to help editors see how the story can fit their publication and audience, making feature articles more comprehensive and better positioned.
Power PR builds a project-management structure around daily production goals, statistical tracking, account management and senior oversight so every person involved in an account is accountable for results.
The media landscape has changed, but the central idea remains the same: understand the client, build a strong story, get it published and create enough credible visibility for the market to notice.
Jeff joined Power PR after graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Communications. His early work included writing press releases, media relations and account management before he moved into broader operational leadership.
He went on to oversee service delivery and company-wide quality control, while helping refine the way Power PR works directly with editors and develops full-length feature articles for industrial clients.
Heather grew up around the business and began working after school and during summers while Power PR was still operating under its earlier Power Marketing name. In January 1995, she became a partner and took on increasingly responsible roles as the company expanded.
Over the years she has worked across the organization, including executive, financial, sales and marketing responsibilities — giving her a broad understanding of both the client experience and the operating side of the company.
The company’s operating model depends on coordination across strategy, writing, media relations, account management and senior supervision — with production and communication tracked closely.
